Besiktas reached the top of the league:1-0

Black Eagles defeated Galatasaray 1-0 in a thrilling İstanbul derby at Inonu Stadium. Besiktas became the new leaders of the Turkcell Super League first time in last four years.

Besiktas fans showed great interest and expressed their beliefs for win with activities through creative flags, banners, chants and opening up a giant Turkish flag before the match.

The early minutes of the game staged a typical mid-field contest. Besiktas applied pressure and initiated effective attacks just before the break.Black & Whites came close to scoring by Tello and Holosko but the first half was completed in a scoreless tie.

Eagles created more serious scoring chances in the closing minute of second half and Mert Nobre managed to send Delgado’s 56th minute corner-kick into Galatasaray net with a well-timed header that put Besiktas 1-0 ahead. Eagles displayed an effective performance initiated mainly from the wings after the lead by Pilip Holosko's dribblings. Nobre was not able to managed to double by Holosko's passes after these wing attacks. Black & Whites walked out of the field with a 1-0 well-deserved victory over previous leader. Besiktas were back on top of the league after 137 weeks with this result.
