Besiktas walked away with 5-2 win
Eagles bet bottom-club Kocaeli 4-2 by coming from behind in the opening match of Week 10 of the Turkcell Super League.
In spite of starting off the game with well organized wing attacks, Besiktas fell 1-0 behind unexpectedly with a 15th minute goal by Taner Gülleri thanks to deadly mistakes of home side and put Kocaelispor to an early lead.
Just 1 minutes later, Semavi added another who cleverly netted the ball with header to Taner's cross from close range to give visitors a valuable 2-0 advantage.
Despite falling behind so early, Besiktas took the control of the game and pulled one back with Nobre’s 30th minute goal.
After receiving a long-range pass from Tello, Filip Holosko dribbled so fast and found himself in a one on one situation with the goalkeeper and his finish leveled the score at 43-minute mark.
In the second half, Besiktas carried the game completely into visitors half of the field. Matias Delgado curled a classy shot in the right-hand corner, leaving Serdar Kulbilge helpless that gave Eagles a much needed 3-2 lead for the first time in the game at 67th minute.
After perfect passing with Delgado, Mert Nobre rewarded the fourth goal who fired a 72nd minute bullet from outside the box.
78th minute substitute Bobo redirected Serdar Ozkan’s clever pass with brillant shot into Kocaelispor net for a 5-2 Besiktas lead in the dying moments of the game. That goal was the 50th of Da Silva Bobo in the offical games with Besiktas.
Black Eagles raised their point to 21 with that 5-2 victory.

Black Eagles loses lead with first defeat
Black Eagles suffered their first loss this season in the Turkcell Super League.
The first half of the match staged a typical mid-field contest. Besiktas initiated threatening attacks against the home side in the some periods of the game with Tello and Nobre.
While both side started off the second half without making any substitution, Besiktas preferred to display a more attacking performance compared to first half.
Five minutes from the time, Kayseri went ahead 1-0 with Turgay Bahadır struck as Besiktas defense hesitated in clearing the ball.
Despite Black & Whites carried the game completely into hosts half of the field to attempt to level the score, home side held on to its lead for the rest of the game.
Eagle's reign at the top ended with that defeat and Trabzon climb to the top spot of the Turkcell Super League.

Eagles went victory with 3 goals in 5 minutes
Besiktas’s first group contest of 2008-09 season Turkish Cup was played at BJK Inönü Stadium.Black & Whites cruises to a 3-0 victor over Antalyaspor by the 2nd half goals that following one after another into 5 minutes portion of the game.
The first half of the match passed largely without incident, as both sides sized each other up. Neither team was even able to came closer to scoring, so the first 45 minutes completed in a goalless tie.
Besiktas came out with clear intent in the second half and it was 2nd half substitute Cisse that broke the deadlock as he finished with header from close range to 72th minute corner-kick.
Black Eagles extended their lead just 3 minutes later. Da Silva Bobo made a mess of a clearance, allowing Holosko space to slot past Antalya defenders and sent the ball into the visitor's net.
Chilean leftie Rodrigo Tello's attempt to roll the ball in from a long range paid off in the 77th minute.
Besiktas walked out of the field with a solid 3-0 win at the first group match of the Turkish Cup.

Besiktas lost the first points at home: 1-1
Besiktas drew 1-1 at home to Sivasspor and lost the change of decreasing the point difference with their rivals in the 8th match day of Turkish Super League.
Besiktas fell 1-0 behind unexpectedly with a 4th minute goal by Mehmet Yıldız who cleverly netted the ball thanks to Zapotocny's deadly mistake.
Nobre caught the opposing defense off-guard and Matias Delgado buried Bobo's pass into Sivasspor net with a brilliant drive that made a quick equalizer for Eagles in the 13th minute.
Despite the consistent scoring attempts of Besiktas coming from accurate through balls, the first half was completed in a 1-1 tie.
Black Eagles created serious scoring chances with Bobo, Delgado and Nobre but they were not able to manage to score at second half.
The late substitutions of Holosko and Serdar Özkan for Bobo and Tello did not alter the course of the match, as well during the remaining minutes.Visitor's scoring attempts without any result into the last period and the game ended with neither side gaining the upper hand.

Eagles turned back to the league summit
Besiktas downed host Genclerbirliği 3-1 on 7th week of Turkcell Super League game. This solid win moved Black Eagles into the first place in the standings.
Besiktas made a blistering start into the game and Rodrigo Tello drew first blood by forced the ball which came from Filip Holosko in the 3rd minute.
Defender Tomas Sivok made second with a header off Delgado corner-kick in the 11th minute.
Just 2 minutes later, Mert Nobre took a brilliant pass from Tello and headed the ball past Genclerbirligi’s goalkeeper into the host's net to make it 3-0 for Besiktas.
Black and White went into the locker room at the half with 3 goals advantage.
Home side's consolation goal came from a penalty converted by Kahe in the 62nd minute. Da Silva Bobo's clean header hit the cross bar.
Besiktas were able to fend off a late challenge from Genclerbirliği, as they ran out 3-1 victors.
Besiktas moved up the title as the only unbeaten team in the league so far after previous leader Trabzon suffer a 3-0 defeat at the hands of Galatasaray.

Turkish Cup draw was anounced
The draw for the Fortis Turkish Cup took place. Beşiktaş, Trabzonspor, Gaziantepspor, Antalyaspor and Gaziantep BBS will battle it out in Group A.
A total of 20 teams entered the draw. There are 4 groups comprised of 5 teams each. The games will be played between October 29, 2008 and January 11, 2009.
The first two teams from each group will advance to quarter finals.
Here are the groups:
Group A: Beşiktaş, Trabzonspor, Gaziantepspor, Antalyaspor, Gaziantep BBS
Group B: Galatasaray, Kayserispor, Ankaraspor, Altay, Malatyaspor
Group C: Sivasspor, Denizlispor, Konyaspor, Manisaspor, Alanyaspor
Group D: Fenerbahçe, Ankaragücü, Bursaspor, Eskişehirspor, Tokatspor

Good start from Besiktas basketball team: 90-76
Beşiktaş Cola Turka Men’s basketball team hosted Kepez Belediyesi on the opening match of 2008-09 season and walked away with a well-deserved 90-76 victory.
Muratcan Güler finished the game with 18 points, followed by Mehmet Yağmur and Marcus V. Faison who each chipped in 15. Jovo Stanojeviç (14), Mario Austin (14), Adem Ören (7), Haluk Yıldırım (3) Cevher Özer (2) and Mire De Juan Chatman (2) also contributed to the Black and White’s offensive effort.

The new coach of Eagle is Mustafa Denizli
Mustafa Denizli was officially announced that he signed a one-year contract with Besiktas at a ceremony held at the Nevzat Demir Facilities.
Former manager of the Turkish national team Mustafa Denizli, has agreed to train the Beşiktaş until the end of this season following the recent resignation of Ertuğrul Sağlam.
Club also have appointed former Besiktas player Tayfur Havutçu as an assistant coach of Denizli.Denizli revealed that he declined Beşiktaş’s two-year offer, because he always signed one-year contracts with the clubs he worked for.
The coach began his career at Galatasaray in 1987. His rich resume also includes a stint at Fenerbahçe and two spells with the Turkish national team.
