Besiktas coach Ertuğrul Sağlam quit his post

Saglam announced his resignation in a press conference in İstanbul.

38-year-old coach of Besiktas resigned following their UEFA Cup exit last week. "The 4-1 loss to Metalist in the UEFA Cup deeply saddened us. We are apologizing to our supporters for the bad game" he said. He also thanked the Besiktas community for its support during his time with the club.

Besiktas grabbed the vital 3 points: 2-1

Black Eagles defeated Capital side Hacettepe 2-1 in week 6 of Turkcell Super League. There were expressive atmosphere in Inonu stadium against terrorism. The huge Turkish flag was hanged down grandstand which ''Martyrs never dies'' writen on it.

Besiktas took the lead early in the game with young striker Batuhan's 7th minute volley. Kadir leveled the score for visitors. neither team was able to change the score during remaining of the first half. Holosko's 64th minute header hit the goal post and came back to the box where Nobre drilled in the leading goal. That 2-1 victory put Besiktas to 3rd place where two points back from the leader Trabzon.

Ferwell to UEFA CUP with 4-1 defeat

Besiktas failed to join them in the group stage as they were unable to build on their 1-0 first-leg lead, crashing to a heavy 4-1 loss at Metalist Kharkiv.

Black Eagles crumbled literally like a house of cards in Ukraine, bowing 4-1 to Metalist and farewell to Europe this season; Metalist advanced 4-2 on aggregate.

Coelho Jackson scored two for Metalist in the 16th and 70th while Seweryn Daniel Gancarczyk added another two in the 26th and 75th. The Eagle's consolation goal came from striker Mert Nobre in the 90th.

Besiktas JK moved down in IFFHS rankings

According to International Football History and Statistics Federation (IFFHS), Besiktas football team moved down to 82nd place. Spanish team Barcelona is at the top on rankings with 710 points.

Black Eagle settled on 82nd place in IFFHS rankings with the total of 68 points points. While Galatasaray took the 42th, Fenerbahce remained in the 89th place.

Besiktas were held to an 1-1 draw at away by Istanbul BBS in the 5th match day of Turkcell Super League.

Black Eagles took the lead early in the game with Slovakian striker Filip Holosko's 4th minute strike to Ekrem's pass. Adriano equalized for the host in the 59th.

Referee Bülent Yildirim disallowed two Besiktas goals due to fictive fault which was scored by Mert Nobre and Matias Delgado at second half.
